This view shows the cafe bar with the raised mdf panels. The steel post has been framed into the upper post where I was able to run my electrical for a plug. I will have the quartz installers install the top around the post and then I will finish the upper post portion the same as the base. This will [...]
By Rick on March 4, 2017A view of the steel posts that I finished after framing with cement board and finishing with the small Lavastone strips. Each piece is individual and is very time consuming to install but the finished product is well worth it… IMHO. A definite conversation piece.
By Rick on November 17, 2016Today I installed the Ditra Heat cable in a pattern very similar to the one I had laid out with the string. There were a couple tweaks that I made so that the wire would continue around the freestanding tub and reach back to a point where I could install the sensor in between two rows of wire. I normally [...]

I built the under counter lighting valances and will install them once the glue sets up. I attach a piece of pine backing so I have something to screw the valance to the cabinets [...]
By Rick on February 11, 2016Today I finished varathaning the base of the bar. I used a triple thickness varathane product. It finished up very nicely. I also installed the lights over the bar don’t worry, they are all the same height it’s just the angle I’m anxious to see the Granite installed tomorrow.
