Basement Renovations

Mike and Jennifer After

I have over 30 years’ experience in completing basements ranging from 500 to over 2000 square feet. No job is too big or too small. I work with wood framing because I believe that this is the strongest and most efficient method of building interior walls. It also provides nailing surfaces for baseboards and door jambs and lets you hang pictures easily by being able to find a wall stud later on.
Once I know your basic plans for usage I am more than happy to offer you valuable money saving ideas along with layout suggestions if you wish. I will transform your 4 concrete walls into a functional living area that you will be pleased with. I put a lot of thought into framing your bulkheads, boxing in your ductwork and columns. I use a laser so that all bulkheads are level. The finished product must be as pleasing to the eye as possible.
The finishing of a basement is a huge undertaking and requires a lot of thought. I always keep open lines of communication with my clients. I consistently update my clients on processes and time lines, and like to get feedback so that we are all on the same page. Initially I prefer to walk through the proposed layout with the client to make sure there have not been any changes that I am unaware of.  Once the framing is complete I always do a walk through confirming the final usage of areas so that I can install electrical outlets and task lighting in the proper places. At this point it is much easier for the client to visualize the room finished and where certain furniture will be placed.  Why have extension cords when you are paying for a custom basement? It could be as simple as just moving an electrical outlet or a pot light a few feet. Communication is the difference between having a finished room and a functional room.
